Fadal Part Number BEL-0003
The BEL-0003 belt is used by the spindle motor to drive the 10K spindle through a Hi/Low idlers system. Sold in a set of two.

There are many cheaper belts that others order from the "original manufacture" but that doesn't guarantee they have the quality for smooth operation. A cheap belt can sound bad and create vibrations that directly transfer to the spindle and vibrate the tool which gives a bad finish on the part. With cheap belts, it's not uncommon for servicemen to repeatedly change out the belts until they finally get acceptable performance. I have spoken with those who have had to put different three sets in until they found a set that would work! Needless to say, they were embarrass as the customer watched them replacing and removing belts.
During production at the Fadal factory, we would order 1200 belts and only use 400 of them which became a production issue with our machines. We learned from the manufacture that the Serpentine belt was designed for basically automotive use, and the standard was far less than the quality we required. To solve this issue, we developed at test fixture that would calibrate the quality of each belt. We then sent the test fixture to the manufacture and instructed them to calibrate each belt before shipping.
Today, our belts are a little more money but they are calibrated and according to servicemen in the field, we have great results with our belts!
